Prime Minister Edi Rama presented today the National Operator for Water Production.
The head of government warned of prison for all those who steal water.
He emphasized that this Operator will do what municipalities cannot do.
"Let's guarantee the success we guaranteed with electricity! Just as we did with energy, the time has come that with this Operator, there will be synergy between the 15 existing companies and with other law enforcement bodies, a red line will be established between those who pay and those who steal, which unfortunately the municipalities have not done to date! Those who steal water should be penalized with deprivation of liberty, as happened with those who steal electricity, a long tale has been told that those who do not pay for electricity were deprived of their freedom, their energy was cut off, but the energy was not taken away", said the Prime Minister.
He further said that a task force will be created at the national level.
"The majority of people who pay regularly will be respected! We have training for specialists, a continuous work that is continuing step by step in energy. We will do the same with water," Rama added.
