Fredi Beleri, accompanied by law enforcement, left the prison to go to the premises of the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The CEC accepted the request of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, to be heard as a party in the process where a decision will be made on the validity of the mandate won by him in the elections of May 14, 2023.
According to him, he must take an oath, then it is the council of ministers that dismisses him.
Beleri accused Edi Rama of asking him not to dismiss him himself, but to pull the 'chestnuts out of the fire' with the hands of the CEC.
There is no legal basis for today's review, someone will pull the chestnut out of the fire with the hands of the CEC. All institutions have become part of the injustices that have been done to me. As I came here today, I could have gone to Himare to swear.
I must swear not to be fired, I am clear that my term is over. They are afraid that they will go to prison. The mayor in office and half of the municipal officials are subject to SPAK," said Beleri at the CEC.
