"Albania Becomes" has entered its 18th day of protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, while organizers are announcing a large demonstration on January 4, at 12:00, with the main demand being the resignation of Edi Rama and the removal of the current government.
Adriatik Lapaj, declared this Thursday that the country has awakened from "clinical death" and that citizens can no longer remain silent in the face of a government that has seized every institution.
" Today we have started organizing for the protest on January 4th. Young and old, from every corner of the country, from every social class, must gather in front of the Prime Minister's Office to demand the end of a regime rotten with corruption ," said Lapaj, citing as an example the flooded farmers who have not yet received the promised compensation.
He highlighted the wave of protests that has erupted in the country in recent weeks, saying that there has been more movement in these 3 weeks than in the last 3 years. According to him, the silence and relativization of scandals, including that of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, has helped deepen citizens' distrust of institutions.
" They say: 'Even if Rama leaves, who will come?'. Uncorrupted people will come, who do not have the rotten roots of this political caste. Now everyone knows that even if you steal, there will come a day when you have no escape... ", Lapaj emphasized.
