Law on Strategic Investments, Tabaku: It should be repealed, lands cannot be divided into mother's and father's!

Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, criticized the law on strategic investments from the Parliament's rostrum, recalling that the opposition has requested its repeal since 2017, but according to her, this request has not been taken into consideration by the majority.

During her speech, Tabaku said that the law has not brought the promised benefits to the country, but has been used to favor certain individuals. She also noted that a legal initiative filed by her on the issue was defeated.

"In 2017, we requested that the law on strategic investments be suspended. We have raised this issue since then and all requests fell on deaf ears. Only one foreign investor has withdrawn with this law, there has only been a distribution of favors. I brought a legal proposal, but it was rejected. Albania does not have to divide the lands, into mother's and father's. There cannot be two standards. We want it for copyright, but not for strategic investments," she said.
