Berisha's fight with SPAK, Tabaku: Our battle is not with the justice institutions, the process is continuing

Tonight's guest on the "Te Pashhoq" podcast is the democratic MP Jorida Tabaku. She spoke about the situation of former Prime Minister Berisha and his fight with SPAK, who has been under "house arrest" for 5 months.

- What is your opinion about the situation where former Prime Minister Sali Berisha is and his relationship with SPAK?

I have said several times that we do not have a battle with the institutions of justice and I do not feel good when there are attacks on the institutions of justice and especially when they come from representatives of the opposition. If there are people who are concerned about justice, it is the government. They try to exert their pressure, their power, but they cannot control it completely. They can use all sorts of ways, but I'm not sure they can't quite succeed.

-Many of your colleagues believe that SPAK is influenced by the majority and Prime Minister Rama? Do you believe this?

I also believe in the fact that there is pressure on certain prosecutors, absolutely there is. There is pressure, but I have faith in the institutions and I want to give them a chance. Even colleagues who have faith continue to take files to SPAK.

- How do you read the work balance of SPAK so far?

I am one of the people who sent more files to SPAK and I considered it as a DP contribution to SPAK. I started in 2020 with the file of incinerators, with the file for energy, roads and I tried to put them to work. SPAK must show that it goes where the power is. The files that we have sent are those for people who are still under the function.

When I saw Erion Veliaj who went to SPAK, I said that for me today is a good day for SPAK. I am sure that he is a person who has knowledge but also a person who should be investigated.

- Do you call the whole SPAK process against former Prime Minister Berisha correct?

Let the institutions work. For Berisha, SPAK has followed a path, his lawyers are going to court and trying the legal path. I call it an ongoing process. I would have liked in this process that we did not have the battle with SPAK.
