A strong quarrel has been reignited between the clerics of the Muslim Community, on the occasion of the new elections, where, in addition to the general council, the corresponding councils in the cities and villages of the country will be elected.
The zeal of this quarrel, more than a clash or a lobby campaign, is a direct war between the already antagonistic currents among the Albanian Muslims, who are also in the largest number. The war between the 'Gülenists' and the 'Erdoganists'.
The hostage of this war continues to be the great cathedral mosque adjacent to the Parliament, which, although it has been completed for a long time, is not opening its doors to the faithful.
Currently, the Gülenists are the current in control of the General Council and the Presidency of the Muslim Committee, while the people who were supported by the Turkish government left 4 years ago.
The two biggest representatives of the "Erdoganist" current are the former chief mufti Ylli Gurra and the former head of the Hoxhallar Association of Albania, Justinian Topulli. Who are also at the head of the campaign for the new elections, to stop the Gülenists from holding the leadership for another 4 years.
Justinian Topulli accuses the current leaders of buying votes within the KMSH, and together with others, he protested demonstratively in front of the offices of the dome of Muslims.
In a post on Facebook, Topulli writes that "votes are not bought only by politicians, but also by Gülenists of KMSH. They also have their tactics of tricks, but there is a day of judgment, just as there is a trial in this world."
For more than 8 years, KMSH has been led by the group that is accused of being Gülenists, and today the chairman is Bujar Spahiu, his predecessor was Skënder Bruçaj, from the same group.

Përfaqësuesit më të rëndësishëm në komunitet nga ky grupim janë myftiu i Shkodrës, Muhamet Sytari, si dhe imamët me shumë influencë në Tiranë: Elvis Naçi dhe Ahmet Kalaja. Ky grup kontrollon kryesisht financimin e pelegrinazhit të haxhit në Mekë.
Në lidhje me rolin e këtij grupimi, erdoganistët nuk kursehen, duke i cilësuar hipokritë.
“Vallahi Gylenistat po i dijmë bre Hoxhë, por këta që sillen si jo Gyleniste e punojnë për Gylenistët, ku ti fusim. Se gylenistët s’kanë asnjë Xhami, por për ta voton Hoxha me gjithë Xhemat”, shkruan një komentues në faqen e Justinian Topullit, i cili i përgjigjet: “këta janë njerëzit oportunistë të vegjël dhe pa shtyllë kurrizore”.
Gjithmonë brenda xhematit musliman shqiptar ka pasur shumë rryma, sekte e fraksione, por edhe agjentura të huaja. Një nga batutat që qarkullon si anektodë në mesin e besimtarëve është “muslimanizmi është shumë i mirë, por jo muslimanët shqiptarë”, duke ju referuar ndarjes dhe intrigave që zhvillohen vazhdimisht brenda tyre.
