The Special Prosecutor's Office has requested a copy of the self-declaration form of the mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Hajdari, from the Central Election Commission.
The Mayor of Kuçovo, Kreshnik Hajdari, was convicted by Greek justice for the charge of "Illegal Border Crossing".
He leads the municipality of Kuçova and won a second term in the May 14 elections.
The decision for the punishment of the mayor Kreshnik Hajdari was given in 1999 by the sole judge of the criminal court of Ioannina, Nicolaos Raptis.
The judge found him guilty and sentenced Hajdar to 1500 Dhrami.
What penalizes Hajdar in this case is the fact that he did not declare this punishment in the decriminalization form. Although Hajdari himself has another legal explanation for his case.
After the publication of the decision, the mayor of Kuçova commented on Facebook that the decision against him was administrative and therefore not mandatory to declare, and that he left for Greece at the age of 17 because "Sali was to blame".
"Then, at the age of 17, I took the road to work in Greece like many other compatriots, leaving behind Albania, which was as bad as Saliu. I was stopped at the border and immediately sent back to my hometown.
I had no knowledge of the actions that the Greek justice took against me afterwards in my absence. And yet, even if I had known, the reprimand given by the Court of Ioannina was not binding on me to be declared as an administrative decision. Something that is very clearly defined in the form of the Law on Decriminalization, more specifically point 7. Having said that, this is not at all penalizing my candidacy as a representative of the Socialist Party in Kučovo Municipality. So there is no legal obstacle", commented Hajdari.
Earlier, Hajdari was informed by the opposition candidate for the municipality of Kuçova, Lefter Maliqi in SPAK that the commissioners of KZAZ Kuçovo by order of the socialist mayor manipulated the voting process.
