Albania held today the fourth intergovernmental conference with the EU, where Prime Minister Edi Rama was also present.
Today, two important group chapters were opened, those on the internal market and competition, which are part of the agenda for advancing Albania's integration processes.
At the end of the meeting, there was a press conference between Prime Minister Edi Rama, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, and Enlargement Chief Marta Kos.
EU enlargement, based on merit, is a priority of the Polish presidency, said Sikorski. He stated that the chapters opened today are vital for Albania's economic integration.
" The Polish Presidency supports a merit-based enlargement. The Presidency's ambition to make progress in enlargement, the ambitious enlargement policy, is something we have worked tirelessly for. The chapters we opened today are vital in Albania's economic integration. I congratulate you, Prime Minister Rama, the overwhelming majority of the Albanian people support the path you are on. This is a positive impetus for us. I congratulate Albania for being a partner and unwavering supporter of Ukraine ," he stressed.
