The counting process has been completed in Shijak, one of the most sensitive areas in the Durrës district, where the Socialist Party emerged victorious with a margin of about 2,000 votes over the Democratic Party.
According to official data, the SP received 7,118 votes, while the DP ended up with 5,266, confirming the dominance of the majority in this electoral unit as well.
Immediately after the final vote count was completed, SP representatives and supporters erupted in celebration, considering the result as a confirmation of popular support on the ground, despite national challenges.
The victory in Shijak is another strategic point for the Socialist Party, which is strengthening its position in the Durrës region. The opposition appears to have lost ground in this area, adding to concerns about its strategy in this year's elections.
