The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, sent very strong messages about politics today, making it clear to Edi Rama, Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha that everyone is equal before the law. The statements were made from Shkodra, while Duman also received support from the Americans.
Undoubtedly, the strongest message was for Edi Rama. Dumani stated that the "McGonigal" file has been under investigation for a year and if it is discovered that the Prime Minister has committed a violation, nothing will save him. He also said about Meta that the investigation is continuing and that there are sensitive data, as he made it clear to Berisha that SPAK does not fall prey to provocations no matter how attacked.
A strong statement definitely came from the embassy representative, who described SPAK as a jewel that must be carefully guarded.
" SPAK is wonderful and a country with corruption like Albania needs a lot. SPAK is important, so you see it every day on TV, as they refer to the media and politicians. SPAK can still do something more, I'm sure and we expect it. You young people can change the basic culture of integrity because SPAK cannot do it alone. I can tell you for sure that SPAK is the envy of many other countries that do not have it as a structure. SPAK should be preserved as a jewel in Albania. It is true that SPAK is an overburdened institution, but with a better society the situation in the country can improve and SPAK can have it easier. Corruption is everywhere ," he said.
But the question that arises is: Will Altin Dumani keep his word or will we have a second Adriatik Llalla? Everyone remembers Tik Llalla who used to go on shows and declare that very soon we will have sensational arrests. So often Llalla said "too soon", that now it is used as a barsolete, because he said that we will have arrests and on the other hand he closed the files of ministers and deputies. To some extent, Arben Kraja also acted like him. When he was in charge of SPAK, he didn't let the media go without going and always said that everyone will be held accountable and only the criminals were arrested when he was the Prosecutor.
Now it seems that Dumani is on the test. The "McGonigal" file is a pure corrupt affair and it will have to be seen if he will have the courage to go to the Prime Minister. As for Ilir Meta, it has been said for 6-7 months that he will be arrested, but nothing. He remains free. For Berisha, the result will be seen when the file goes to court.
On the other hand, the corrupt are not the only ones. Ilir Beqaj roams free, although Dumani declares that everyone will be held accountable. He is immersed everywhere, but SPAK is afraid to arrest him. The file for Olta Xhaçka has begun to collect dust, as there is no development regarding the abuse of IPARD funds.
