Ilir Meta has returned to attacks and accusations against the government and justice. After a period of distancing himself from the political chaos, Meta has started appearing in public and giving messages that he is also part of the opposition.
Today, the Freedom Party held its Steering Committee Meeting and Meta sent peace signals to Berisha. Although a few days ago he gave signals of distancing by not strongly supporting the action that is being pursued, today he attacked justice for the isolation of Berisha.
" Albania today is a narco-state, where: Basic human rights and freedoms have been hijacked by the mafia in power; Where the system of checks and balances does not exist due to state capture; Where accountability is eliminated; As you can see, the Assembly has been hijacked by the Government and the political activity of the elected representatives of the opposition in the Assembly and local government has been limited by special laws and exceptions; Where the Opposition is "appointed" by court decisions and its real leaders are arrested, isolated, threatened and blackmailed; Where justice has been captured in a mafia way and operates with direction by making selective strikes according to the Prime Minister's political interest of the day and in the service of his electoral agenda ", said Meta.
Meta's attacks prove that the former president has not fixed things that much. There were rumors that he was staying in the shadows due to SPAK investigations, but it seems that things behind the scenes have not gone smoothly and Meta has returned to its origins.
