The appearance, transformation, metamorphosis of Ilir Meta in the courtroom, captured by cameras and fixed by photojournalists, has made a strong impression.
There were many elements to attract attention, so much so that the effect was truly shocking. As usual, after this a broad public reaction began on the event, on the appearance and on the impact it produced. Of course, in the heat of the moment, without reflection, without deep analysis on what it really represents.
Because in all this multitude of reactions, expected, sentiments for and against are intertwined, but also another category that does not take sides, but tries to understand: what does this situation, this metamorphosis of man that we saw today, represent?
Who is this figure, or more precisely, who was he in reality: Ilir Meta the man, or the phenomenon?
Albania is not Denmark or Finland, where the sight of a defendant behind bulletproof glass is treated as a procedural episode without emotional charge. In Albania, we have concrete examples of flesh-and-blood people who have entered prison young and come out old.
They emerged with gray or thinning hair, a tired face and a weakened body, but with a straight back, carefully groomed, and a strong desire for life as soon as they saw freedom.
In fact, when they embraced or kissed their love with all the missing passion, they felt like they were in a real paradise, completely different from the sermons of some clergyman who spoke to them about a happiness postponed to another world, after the suffering of this world.

Pjetër Arbnori, who served 28 years in prison in Burrel, and when he was released, he married, started a family, became Speaker of the Parliament, gave speeches and wrote books.
Fatos Lubonja and Spartak Ngjela, who were deprived of their youth and best years by prison, but developed their most important activity after emerging from communist hell, living as people and not as phenomena.
Today's Ilir Meta was different: burdened, sad, frustrated and angry. This was also reflected in his statements, where he repeated the accusations against Edi Rama, George Soros, McGonagall and the new judiciary.
In this part, Meta did not disappoint: he came across as the politician who, even if he were not in prison, would say the same things. The only thing missing was the familiar screams from the Freedom Party's pulpit, which today, naturally, would not be coherent with the situation.
However, what impressed me most was the man Ilir Meta. His spiritual state. A dimension that, although he himself does not seem to want to expose, he cannot completely hide.
Could he have come out today, on the day of the opening of the trial, and simply said:
"I am Ilir Meta. I have been unjustly imprisoned for two years. I will argue my innocence. I greet my family, friends, and anyone who believes in the truth"?
Of course it could.
But it seems that Meta has chosen, and continues to choose, the phenomenon over the human being. A phenomenon that he has built over the years and that perhaps already dominates him.
While the man, the real one, remains in the shadows. Perhaps even for Illyrian himself.
And this is why, in this process that has just begun, others will speak more: prosecutors, lawyers, witnesses, evidence.
Because Illyrian, the man, seems afraid to talk to Illyrian.

Kimetja u perpoq te fshehe impaktet , sepse dihet qe injoranca e Shqiptareve eshte me fame sepse tradhetaret i kane bere heronj, dhe heronjte i quajne tradhetare si psh : Ata qe kane vrare Italiane dhe Gjermane jane akoma " heronj" te " Atdheut " qe rane per fitoren e Anglo-Hebreve !
Mbajtja e Metes ne kafaz dhe paraqitja e tille para medieve, ndërkohe qe aktakuza e ngarkon me vetem 10% te veprave kriminale qe Meta ka kryer, eshte skenar i Ramutit dhe Salehit. Ata duanë qe te krijojnë nje opinion "dhembshurie" per Meten
