Oil price, Brace criticizes the government: No measures have been taken to
Erion Brace

Following the Transparency Board's decision to reduce the price of oil by 4 lek, Socialist MP Erion Braçe criticized the majority for the measures taken against price increases in the country.

Brace said that the government should have intervened with measures to ease this 'burden', one of which could have been working from home or subsidized public transportation.

"It hurts me that we, the majority, had only two measures in this situation, the Board and the 20% reduction in excise duty; No measures to encourage savings - fewer working days per week (God took care of this with Eid, Catholic Easter and this Orthodox week), working from home, subsidized public transportation," said Braçe in a post on social networks.

Braçe also raised concerns about informality in the fuel market, bringing cases from citizens.

"I have some videos that citizens have sent me, where salespeople at the pump can be heard saying: 'Do you want a receipt?!' Well, what does this mean? For every sale with the question 'Do you want a receipt' and without a receipt, where is it reported, how is it taxed?! I don't know! I have this for the state," he says.

In his post, Braçe also raised concerns about the fact that Albanian society does not recognize the culture of saving, because although the price of fuel has increased significantly, there is still an increased number of vehicles in circulation.

"The board has now lowered the price; Oil will cost 220 lek per liter! Of course, it reflects the ceasefire in the Middle East and Iran's commitment to open the Strait of Hormuz! Meanwhile, two things have impressed me; First, how is it possible that these days with high oil prices, there is more movement and more traffic??!! We really lack a sense of saving that keeps our daily consumption away from fuel prices and we accept to pay dearly!! Second, it hurts me that we-the majority had only two measures in this situation-the board and the 20% reduction in excise duty; No measures to encourage saving-fewer working days per week (God took care of this with Eid, Catholic Easter and this Orthodox week), working from home, subsidized public transportation; I'm leaving aside the request to deal with the market-the competition in it and the severe fiscal evasion! I have some videos here that different citizens have sent me and where You can hear the salespeople at the pump: Do you want the receipt?! Well, what does this mean? For every sale with the question "Do you want the receipt" and without a receipt, where is it reported, how is it taxed?! I don't know! I have this for the state that we are done with Luigi - his wish for 500 lek per liter of oil was not fulfilled! "- said Erion Braçe.
