The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, has welcomed in Tirana the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, within the framework of the Berlin Process Summit that will be held today in the Albanian capital.
According to the Greek media, Mitsotakis is expected to bring to the Tirana summit the case of Fredi Beleri, who is in prison for buying votes.
Mitsotakis will demand that Beleri be sworn in as the mayor of Himara, as he has repeatedly reiterated that candidate countries must respect basic European principles and values.
"The Prime Minister has made it clear that the case of Fredi Beleri will have consequences in Greek-Albanian relations and will influence Greece's decisions regarding Albania's membership process", writes Protothema newspaper.
