Ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, during Tuesday's "Big Brother VIP" show, wished former president Ilir Meta a happy birthday.
She said that despite everything, she cannot dismiss the 33 years she spent with him, hoping for his release and return to politics.
"March 24 is the birthday of the father of my children, my ex-husband and the president of the PL. Of course, congratulations are due, regardless of the circumstances, I do not deny 33 years of my life and political struggle with him. I take this opportunity to wish him a happy birthday, a speedy release and a return to political life," said Monika Kryemadhi.
On Tuesday, the GJKKO rejected Meta's request to leave the cell. He also requested the replacement of the security measure against a financial guarantee of 50 thousand euros.
The former president has been in prison since October 2024 and faces charges of corruption related to the CEZ-DIA affair, LSI lobbying contracts in the US, as well as money laundering and asset concealment. The case against him and his ex-wife Kryemadhi has already been moved to trial on the merits and the drawing of lots is expected.
