Former Socialist MP Arben Malaj, in an interview he gave this evening on "Oponencë", stated that when Rama was in opposition, he asked Socialist MPs to sign a declaration waiving their immunity.
Malaj said that at that time, the idea was of a new democratic culture, but today that the Socialist Party is in power, this ethical principle in politics is not applied.
" When we were in opposition, Rama asked us to make a statement to automatically waive our immunity and we all did it unanimously. We thought we would create a new democratic culture and that we would force the majority to do the same."
"When it comes to the issue and you are in the majority today, you do not apply this ethical principle of politics. Mitsotakis in Greece is discussing this in the Greek parliament since his government is eroded by corruption and he says that the best solution is to remove the immunity of the MP ," he said.
