"The drug wars hit the economy", Berisha: They pressured us not to use
Sali Berisha

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has stated that pressure has been exerted on the opposition not to use the term "drug state" to describe the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The statement was made during a speech to citizens and democratic supporters in Kamza.

According to Berisha, these pressures have come not only in political form, but also through lobbyists connected to the prime minister.

"We have denounced their affairs. We have denounced the narco-state. There have been great efforts to pressure us not to use the term narco-state, efforts also from Edi Rama's lobbyists," Berisha said.

Following his speech, the leader of the Democratic Party argued that, according to him, the use of this term is justified by the economic consequences that he attributes to criminal activity and the circulation of informal money.

Berisha said that the fall of the euro has severely damaged exporters, linking this phenomenon to what he described as "narcoeuro".

"How can we not use the term narco-state, when narco-euros have brought down the economy? When exports disappear one after another, because narco-euros have brought down the euro by 30%," he declared, adding that exporters cannot afford this loss.

Excerpt from Sali Berisha:

Thanks to the work done in the 2023 elections, the Black Book, and that work of yours, Edi Rama was put in the red circle.

Edi Rama realized on May 12th that he had been caught red-handed stealing. Red-handed. He was furious. He lost. He called and threatened the chief observer in his office, he threatened other observers to change the report.

They, not that they didn't change the report, but they re-dimensioned the report much more, as was the truth. Did we achieve something? We achieved something very big. We managed to prove to the Albanians, to prove to the international community that this, those mandates are a crime. That this has no legitimacy.

And an illegitimate government is fought every hour, every day, every week, until it falls. An illegitimate government is never, never respected. Free people never respect it. So, secondly, you are witnessing it every day, every day. And sometimes two, three times a day.

We have denounced their affairs. We have denounced the narcostate. Great efforts to pressure us not to use the term narcostate. Great efforts also from Edi Rama's lobbyists. But how can we not use the term narcostate?

When exports disappear one after another, because narcoeuros bring down the euro. They bring it down by 30%. But the one who exports that much doesn't have the 30% profit. And he only has the euro to exchange.

That those narcoeuros are transformed into towers, gataçel in Tirana. And they have destroyed the market. No young person of this blessed city, no young person of Tirana can think of buying an apartment because of the prices, which are equal to Munich and Paris. Why? Because it is very simple.

Towers are built, drug kids come and buy the floors. They lock them up and stay where they are, in Colombia, Ecuador and others. And these people here don't lower the prices. The only country in Europe and the world that has big constructions and the prices keep going up.

So, isn't this a disaster for the country? When no young person can buy an apartment? When housing is becoming more and more of a problem because people don't have, can't afford to buy apartments.

So that's why, apart from interfering in the elections, what happened today? Now, fortunately, it happened that our lonely voice in the desert for several, even for years, but we did not get tired. No. We continued to denounce the narco-state as your fierce enemy, the citizens.

Now in every meeting they have with states and with American officials, at the top of the agenda are the drug clans and the connections with the drug clans of Edi Rama and the government officials. Yes.

We did it. We managed to present to Albanians and the world that 90% of the media is under government control. So, 90% deceives you every day from morning to dinner. Worse than in a dictatorship.

Absolutely worse. I remember that time today. Indeed, state television from morning to night was deceiving and glorifying evil, Enver Hoxha. Yes, he was. The others had cans, they listened to the Voice of America.

And today, almost all media outlets are. There are 43 professional fraudsters, who are paid to go from one studio to another just to deceive citizens. It doesn't happen. It doesn't happen anywhere else. And all this, they are paid with money that they steal from citizens.
