International voices condemning the violence at yesterday's Democratic protest, where Molotov cocktails and fireworks were thrown at "Villa 31", have increased.
Following the reaction of the French Embassy and the European Union Delegation in Tirana, a public reaction has also come from the German Embassy.
In an official statement, the German Embassy expressed full support for the position of the EU Delegation, condemning the violence used during the protests. The German Embassy emphasizes that the protest cannot justify unacceptable violence against citizens and property.
"The German Embassy strongly supports the EU delegation's statement against the unacceptable violence during the recent protests. Political protest and the right to demonstrate can never justify violence against people or property. Political leaders must fulfill their responsibility for peaceful coexistence in a democracy," the response states.
Earlier, the EU Delegation and the French Embassy condemned the acts of violence, emphasizing the importance of respecting the law and democratic standards when exercising the right to protest.
The opposition protests have been accompanied by tensions and incidents, for which there have been numerous reactions from international partners.
