The leader of the PDIU, Shpëtim Idrizi, has declared that he is almost certain that he will win his mandate as a deputy in the May 11 elections, even though he is on the open list of the DP and ASHM alliance in Tirana.
He said that he bases this certainty on the results of previous elections, where the number of votes collected by the PDIU was sufficient to elect at least one MP in the capital.
"PDIU has historically played from 12,500 to 13,000 votes in Tirana, as it was in 2017. Throughout the electoral history, this weight has been repeated with small deviations. So our weight is there. Being the chairman on the open list will also have a plus commitment. It is important that we are winners with dignity and that our votes are more than one mandate. But even if I don't get it, it won't be a tragedy. I have been outside parliament other times, but I am very focused on getting the mandate ," Idrizi said on the "Debat" show on "A2 CNN".
