"There are no hostile groups in the DP", Hoxha 'slaps'

Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Lisandër Hoxha, states that internal movements in this party, including Ervin Salianjan's meetings with democrats in cities, are a natural development and not a sign of division.

On the show 'Off Record' on A2Cnn, Hoxha said that "there are no hostile groups in the DP", but only democrats who seek to bring new energy in the conditions when the governing bodies have not met for months.

Hoxha stressed that the DP has not convened the National Council for 7 months, which has created an institutional vacuum and allowed debates to take place in cafes, spontaneous meetings and alternative forms. “It is not bad to meet, to discuss, to have proposals. It is bad not to gather official structures,” he said.

On the other hand, Hoxha defended the right of every democrat to initiative, including the tour of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and the Salijanj meetings. He called these initiatives positive for warming up the party, as long as they do not turn into myths or groups with false claims for political influence.

Speaking about the elections and the general situation in the country, Hoxha underlined that the main problem does not lie with the opposition, but with the way the government uses the administration and public power, which, according to him, has also been confirmed by international reports. Meanwhile, he demanded that the DP urgently launch an analysis, rebuild structures and regain the trust of citizens in the face of a government that he described as "sinked by corrupt affairs."

Hoxha said, among other things, that the National Council meeting does not solve the crisis alone, but "opens the game" towards internal normalization and increasing the political performance of the DP, while the opposition must maintain unity and be ready to fulfill its duty in the face of the Rama government.
