Radiology professor Evis Sala is the new Minister of Health.
Sala will return from Italy to Albania, where, with her knowledge and experience, she will lead the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. She replaces Albana Koçiu in this position.
Evis Sala directs the Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Oncological Radiotherapy at the "Gemelli" Polyclinic and is a lecturer in higher education institutions, where she contributes with her academic and research experience to the training of the new generation of health professionals.
Prof. Sala has a long academic and research career in the United Kingdom, where for many years he was part of the University of Cambridge and co-directed the Advanced Cancer Imaging Program and the Integrated Cancer Medicine Program at the Cambridge Cancer Research Center.
"The Minister of Health comes from New York where she held the position of Professor and Chief of Abdominal Radiology at the University of Cambridge and most recently at the Gemelli Polyclinic and practices the profession of a lecturer in Rome. She will leave Italy to join us as Minister of Health in this historic effort of Albania in the EU, she will also bring the example of successful Albanians to the world", said Edi Rama as he announced Sala as minister.
