Journalists were not allowed inside the Parliament, Ina Zhupa explodes against
Democratic Party MP, Ina Zhupa

Democratic Party MP, Ina Zhupa, has criticized the behavior of the Republican Guard, who are preventing journalists from participating in conferences, interviews and meetings with opposition MPs in the Parliament premises.

Zhupa describes this practice as a clear violation of the fundamental principles of a democratic state, emphasizing that these actions are violating freedom of expression and the press, as well as the public's right to be informed.

The Democrat underlines that opposition MPs cannot be restricted in their right to communicate with the media in their work premises and that no institution has the right to silence journalists.

"I strongly condemn the behavior of the Republican Guard and the illegal orders of the Assembly that prohibit journalists from participating in conferences, interviews or meetings with opposition MPs.

This is a clear violation of the fundamental principles of a democratic state. These actions violate the freedom of expression and the press, guaranteed by the Constitution, and the right of the public to information. The right of opposition MPs to meet journalists in their workplaces cannot be restricted.

No institution has the right to silence the media and no guard is above the Constitution. The Republican Guard should be at the service of the state and the law, not turned into soldiers of the party state.

"If this next Guard commander also has personal ambitions to become mayor, like the first from the Socialist Party, this does not at all justify his political behavior and abuse of public office," Zhupa wrote in a post on social networks.
