A meeting, initiated by Ervin Salianji with candidates for MPs, who are among the most voted in various districts, has caused concerns in the leadership of the Democratic Party.
Sali Berisha, in his reaction, said that it is not worth commenting on coffee meetings, while he considered the media coverage of such a meeting as a way to cover up the Government's scandals.
About 15 people were present at the meeting in question, including Aulon Kalaja, Ilir Alimehmeti, Xhemal Gjunkshi, and Tedi Kopliku, who is also the head of the Grain Gain Department at the DP.
Former candidate for MP on the open list of Shkodra District, Kopliku, has revealed details from this meeting.
In an interview for Report TV, Kopliku said that he was invited by Ilir Alimehmeti for coffee, but denied that there was any discussion about forming a movement within the DP. He even stated that there is no reason to treat them as a group within the largest opposition party.
"This was a meeting like dozens of others that democrats have among themselves, for a coffee, I was invited by Ilir Alimehmeti. It was a discussion, a conversation between people who received the most votes, but it is not necessarily a movement. Movements and referendums are not made with a meeting in a coffee shop, despite the media's desire to create a storm in a cup of coffee," said Tedi Kopliku.
Koplik says that the blue headquarters has officially articulated the need for an internal analysis.
"We cannot be treated as a group, there is definitely a need for analysis, the DP itself has articulated it," he emphasizes.
