Former minister and long-time socialist Arben Malaj has reacted to Prime Minister Rama's action to occupy public spaces. He has published several photos, denouncing how a former MP's company has occupied the sidewalk during the construction of a building.

Just 200 meters from the Prime Minister's office, on the cobblestone road from "Venecia" to "Qyteti Studenti", for five years a private company, linked to a former MP, has, according to the attached photos, occupied the sidewalk and about 40% of the public road surface.
This is not allowed in any democratic country.
The company should have built the "tunnel" system on the first day of the investment, without blocking the sidewalk and creating maximum safety for pedestrians.
What is most criminal: residents are mercilessly fined by the Municipal Police and the Public Order Police, while the usurpation of public space is protected by silence or support from above.
The irony goes so far that two police officers fine us for blocking the "bicycle corridor", while the corridor has been paralyzed for 5 years because it has been occupied by a private company.
We have filed petitions, complaints, gone to the Municipality and the Police – but in the face of injustice, the institutions have become deaf.
I react publicly, because there is no longer any patience or justification for an occupied street in the middle of Tirana to be defended for 5 years in a row, while citizens are punished every day.
Enforce the law!
Unblock the road!
Punish the abusers, not the residents!
