Countdown so far/ Ilir Meta fails to secure a parliamentary mandate and win freedom, PL leader left in the lurch by supporters

Ilir Meta seems to have a very difficult time becoming an MP and securing freedom, even for a short time.

The leader of the PL entered the race in these elections even though he is in prison. The plan was to get a mandate as an MP and secure immunity. This meant that he would have to be released for a while, until his immunity was lifted. But Meta decided to enter the open race and promised that he would be the one with the most votes.

" The Freedom Party has candidates on an open list, its president, Ilir Metaj, and Metaj will be the most voted MP not only in the Tirana district, but in all of Albania. Our objective is over 40 thousand votes ," said Tedi Blushi.

But out of 75 ballot boxes counted in Tirana for candidates, Meta has 340 votes and is the 7th most voted, which means that if this trend continues, he cannot become an MP.
