Michael Gahler, an OSCE-ODIHR observer, has cut short Edi Rama's term. Presenting the preliminary election report, he said that Albania will not join the EU as it is today.
Gahler recommended that all relevant stakeholders take the recommendations seriously.
" I would absolutely suggest the recommendations and those that will come from the European Parliament to the interested actors here, but I would like to have a broad consensus of political parties, to improve the electoral process."
This is one of the aspects that leads towards the EU. The other issues that you mentioned that have to do with corruption, other things that go beyond the elections will certainly be addressed, you can be sure. This country will not enter the EU as it is today, but there are many things that can be improved and the elections are important. I strongly recommend that all relevant actors take the recommendations seriously ,” he said.
