Here are the results with 50 percent of the boxes counted...
With 2,848 ballot boxes counted out of a total of 5,225, Albania's electoral panorama after Sunday's elections has begun to become clearer. The Socialist Party has gained a significant advantage over the Democratic Party and its new coalition, while new political forces are surprising with the support they have received.
Edi Rama's SP has collected 389,541 votes, which constitute 52.7% of the total votes counted. In second place is the coalition DP – Alliance for Greater Albania (DP-ASHM) with 250,342 votes, or 34.0%. The difference between the two main forces is noticeable, reflecting the ongoing crisis within the opposition and the effect of vote splitting.
In the race for third place, Tom Doshi's Social Democratic Party managed to receive 28,220 votes (3.9%), followed by Adriatik Lapaj's new movement "Albania Becomes" with 25,323 votes (3.4%). These figures indicate a reorientation of a part of the electorate towards new forces that claim to break the political duopoly.
In the meantime, below we are providing an overview of the votes counted so far in each district.
