PD MP Jorida Tabaku has reacted to the 'Mountain of Tirana' tower that will be built behind the Opera and Ballet Theater in Tirana.
In an announcement on social networks, Tabaku writes that the project of this tower is a clear symbol of arrogance and lack of care for the historical heritage, which according to her are destroying the city in terms of urban planning. According to Tabaku, this tower that will be built is an example of the corrupt politics that has come as a result of impunity.
"In the years 1990-2011, Hajdin Sejdisa's pit was the symbol of all Albanian capitalism, the pollution of the center of Tirana, a common example of political ignorance. Although the pit was covered in 2011, to be lush and not the city's swamp, 12 years later the same policy returned it to the image of the corrupt policy that has destroyed the lives of Albanians in 3 decades. During this time, political and economic oligarchs grew rich by destroying the city, while many of them used the same corrupt practices to build their wealth.
The tower project in the center of Tirana is a clear symbol of arrogance and disregard for historical heritage, destroying the city from an urban and functional point of view. One of the factors that caused this situation is the lack of rule of law and impunity, a point of view that is changing with the commitment of SPAK", writes Tabaku.
The democratic deputy encourages SPAK to continue the fight against corruption.
"SPAK is doing an extraordinary job in stopping corruption and disbanding the political and economic oligarchy. Where the economy, politics, media and every sector has sunk today can really change only with an uncompromising fight against corruption and support for SPAK. Today, Albanians understand who fights corruption and who fakes it, who speaks just to pass the queue and who denounces from principles, whose interest is affected and who is emboldened by adversity.
Politics, apart from SPAK, is the chance to get Albania out of the political quagmire - to pave the way for a different policy, as a real means of change, with facts and arguments with solutions that really believe and work that can do things differently" , Tabaku said.
Gradacela, which will be called "Mountain of Tirana", is expected to be 65 stories high. 58 floors above and 7 floors underground and 185 above, and is being built by Nova Construction 2012 where Ilir Shtufi is the owner with 91% of the shares and Kujtim Shtufi with 9%.
