If there are things on which the Albanian majority and opposition completely agree, they are the 'wishes and whims' of President Donald Trump.
Although in recent days, the DP has not left any accusations unpunished against Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the invitation received from Trump to the Peace Board, today they have declared that they will vote without any discussion for Trump's initiative for Albania's participation in the Peace Board for Gaza.
It was the Democratic MP herself, Ina Zhupa, who declared that the opposition would vote for Trump's initiative for the Peace Board.
"The DP has been, is and will be a pro-American and pro-European party and sees the US as a strategic partner. The fact that the American President is building a board with all countries, where Albania could not be an exception, since there you find Russia, Belarus, etc., is not a privilege for Rama, but you are simply a country where you will be part of a board with over 100 countries. As for the DP, not only are we a pro-American party, but we have also maintained a public stance in support of President Donald Trump. We support every peace initiative and Trump and we will never be against decisions taken by the American administration. This is not even an issue for discussion in the DP. It is in our statute and in our ideal. Edi Rama's attempt to sell the invitation as a personal friendship, as a success or a selected leader, was propaganda because it has nothing to do with any achievement of the majority. It is something protocol and the DP does not confuse its stances towards the majority with "the relationship it has with the US ," said Zhupa.
It is worth noting that the same scheme was used in the Sazan Island project, which Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, asked to build a luxury resort. Although the Opposition criticized the government's willingness to offer the island to the Trump family, on the other hand, it stated that if it were in power, it would have done the same thing.
