The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held his next speech with the Democrats, this time at the branch of this party in unit number 4 in Tirana.
In his speech, Berisha highlighted the alarming figures of Albanian emigration during the years of Edi Rama's socialist government.
He underlined that we are in a dictatorship of gangs, the most dangerous of all types.
Berisha: I come to you today at an extremely special moment for the DP opposition, but also for the country. I come at a moment when the DP and the opposition are facing the greatest test in their entire existence. Before the test of fulfilling their mission, saving Albania from a regime that is a dictatorial regime. Not the totalitarian type that does not accept any kind of opposition, the totalitarian type that accepts pluralism but suppresses it.
In both cases, power is in the hands of one man. Anyone who has studied them has found that the worst of all forms is not the one that fills the country with prisons and camps. But that of the dictatorship of gangs. There is no rule, no law. It does not respect any norm. No standard. It really, unlike the first, does not execute, but this one executes hope. It drives people away from Albania and the country like nothing else.
From 2014 to 2023, 1 million 100 thousand Albanians have emigrated to Schengen alone. 700 thousand young people. They grow up in Albania, but they do not build the Albanian dream in Albania. And we are decreasing, decreasing. To such an extent that everyone from the UN, and everyone else sees Albanians as a disappearing nation. Today, the number of children born was the same as 100 years ago.
