Saimir Korreshi, a DP MP, has published a series of images from the Lushnja hospital, denouncing the scandalous situation and problematic conditions.
He states that the lack of equipment, the budget reduction from 207 million lek in 2025 to 92 million this year (new), the 6-month move of the emergency room and the placement of the maternity ward on the first floor in conditions where most patients receive service in the corridor, as well as other problems, is inexcusable and creates chaos.
Korreshi brought to attention that the Lushnja hospital serves 250 thousand residents, not only of Lushnja and Divjaka but also the areas of Belsh, Rrogozhina and Peqin.
He also invites Lushnja MPs to visit the hospital and see the problems up close.
"Today the situation is dramatic. The pictures speak for themselves, let them come and see for themselves. First, the status of the hospital must be changed from municipal to regional, so that there is more investment and budget. The difference is about 150 million lek. The analyzes have given it to the private sector, degrading the city.
There are no medications; this has been an extraordinary hospital, patients have come from all over the area, about 250 thousand people. But today, as we speak, there is no equipment that works. The mammogram is always broken, the scanner is also broken, the emergency equipment does not work, and even everything that comes out, comes back in, God forbid something happens. Even the ultrasound equipment was financed by a bank.
"There is no equipment in Gynecology; if you talk to the gynecologists, you will learn what happens there. I am not talking about the conditions, which are dramatic, not only about the lack of funds. Private hospitals benefit from Albanians' money; everyone knows that Lushnja patients go to Tirana for tests," he said.
