Prime Minister Edi Rama, on the eve of the May 11 elections, where he aims for a fourth consecutive government mandate, announced a new plan, named "fiscal peace" with business.
The plan that will be presented to entrepreneurs aims for convenience, but also to keep tax controls away from businesses.
"In a few days, a meeting with business to explain the fiscal peace plan. It implies an agreement between the government and business for the contribution. If business and the revenue agency agree that for the next year or the next 2 or 3 years, I as a business will pay what I didn't pay last year, plus economic growth, taxes will be taken care of so that there is no control," Rama said.
At the meeting with businessmen from Lezha, Rama said that the peace plan also foresees tax reductions when businesses publish previously undeclared income.
"The second opportunity to declare income that they have not previously made in a period of time, they declare it by paying only 5% of that income. If it is 15%, the tax will be 5%," he said.
Part of this plan are also outstanding obligations and fines, explained Prime Minister Rama.
