This is what MP Ferdinand Xhaferaj said on the "Arnautistan" show on MCN TV, stating that in this campaign he has noticed that even Democratic Party militants who three years ago, when the clash occurred on January 8th, when Berisha's group attacked the DP headquarters, were extremely aggressive, have now proven him completely right.

Xhaferaj added that Sali Berisha cannot maintain the DP unless he wants to degrade like Lulzim Basha.

The DP has been divided into an elite led by Berisha, completely distanced from the base, and the best evidence of this is the protest called directly after the people, where there were only dozens of people. The right has the problem within itself. To say that the DP has no future, to some extent we are investing in the risk that Albania is without opposition and the future remains very problematic with a government that from mandate to mandate increases its tendencies to be arrogant.
I see it differently, I see that the party base is there. It is distanced because it has understood that Berisha did not return to bring the DP to power, but returned to use the DP as an instrument to facilitate the resolution of personal problems and if this elite that is currently in parliament, since it was elected, was elected to be like that to remain silent but will remain silent until the fall, there is a saying that when reform is required, if the generals do not do it, the colonels will come out to do it, it will definitely explode. And if it does not explode within the DP, those 100 thousand votes that Lapaj and Shehaj received will turn into 500 thousand in the next elections, because the electorate is there. What I want is for the Democratic Party to do it.
Will the DP be in 2029 with these potentials that it has? There are potentials within the DP that are both educated and have proven that they have an anti-corruption line. I think that there is and at most by spring there will be important changes in the DP. Sali Berisha cannot hold on. We do not want him to degrade like Lulzim Basha. I would like the change to come from the DP, because it also has the potential if it is reformed. When Berisha, who claims to be the owner of these 500 thousand votes, does not even get 500 in protest, it shows that there is a division. You are left with 90% of the list with the product of 2013. So the more it was invested to project the DP in the service of its own agenda, the more it has enlightened people. Jorida will not do it, others will emerge who meet the criteria who are 30-40 years old, who have not been dirty with previous governments and they will definitely emerge.
