The deputy of the Democratic Party, who supports the Euro-Atlantic group of Basha, Merita Bakiu says that the protest and revolt of the residents of Kruja, Fushë-Kruja and Thumana, came as a result of the ignorance and arrogance with which the citizens have been treated, even though they have months that require solutions due to the isolation caused by the Thumane-Kashar axis.
In a post on Facebook, Bakiu states that the lack of response from the authorities is another evidence of the degradation of parliamentarization and political representation produced by the 2008 agreement.
She says that while the citizens were protesting, the Law Commission continued the theater to defend the 2008 agreement, which is also the reason why the residents of these areas today are isolated, trampled and do not find a solution, because someone else has decided to them.
For this, Bakiu says that Albania deserves more, that's why the Euro-Atlantic Democrats have filed an amendment in the Parliament of Albania today that allows 100% open lists, to give the deputies the opportunity not to behave like the sheep of the presidents.
"Hearing and experiencing the righteous revolt of the residents of Kruja, Fushë-Kruja and Thumana, I officially notified the police about the development of today's protest, which was an appeal to end the injustice against citizens and businesses that have been isolated from this corrupt government, which does not think about the citizens, but only about its economic clientele.
This just protest came as a result of the ignorance and arrogance with which the citizens have been treated, even though they have been looking for a solution for months due to the isolation caused by the Thumane-Kashar axis.
The lack of response from the authorities is another evidence of the degradation of parliamentarization and political representation produced by the 2008 agreement.
16 years later, it has proven to be a failed experiment that does not serve the interests of citizens, but only a small handful of politicians and their clientele.
The annihilation of political representation, which has turned the parliament into a hall of kamikazes in the service of the oligarchs and the 34-year-old unpunished caste, is also the main reason why we asked and are asking for a real Electoral Reform, which through open lists turns the MP into a protector of the voters' interests and in their voice in the Parliament of Albania.
This is the real change that we want to bring, this is also the reason why they have come together to prevent the opening of the lists and the legal changes that we have filed in the Assembly.
Therefore, while the citizens were protesting, in the Law Commission the theater continued to defend the 2008 agreement, which is also the reason why the residents of Kruja, Fushë-Kruja and Thumana today are isolated, trampled and do not find a solution, because someone another has decided for them.
Albania deserves more, that's why we have filed today in the Parliament of Albania an amendment that allows 100% open lists, to give MPs the opportunity not to behave like sheep of the mayors, but as representatives of the will of the citizens who demand change" , writes Bakiu.
