The Democratic Party officially filed yesterday the request for the dismissal of the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj.
Former Minister of Justice, Enkelejd Alibeaj, said in the Quo Vadis studio on Vizion Plus that with this step the opposition has "made a mistake".
According to him, this is a game that the opposition is playing, while adding that some MPs have found the president's dismissal as a cause.
He emphasized that the DP's clashes should occur with Edi Rama, not with his "extensions" in the Presidency.
Excerpts from the conversation:
Borakaj: The Democratic Party mentioned 7 violations.
Alibeaj: It's useless.
Borakaj: Why?
Alibeaj: This opposition is in a situation where the event that happens in the morning is enough to spin it throughout the day, and the next day it catches something else. So, instability. Even in this case, they are not serious. The dismissal of the president is a rare event, it does not happen often. When you ask for something so big, the event that caused it must also be very big.
The only thing that makes sense is the first point, the decreeing of the Tirana elections. Even the first point will have to go through a procedural phase. In principle, it should have waited for the Constitutional Court. Some deputies seem to be playing a game with this latest cause they have found, the dismissal of the president. The opposition's battle should be with the opponent, Edi Rama, not with Rama's extensions in the Presidency. This shows that they are not fulfilling their role as the opposition.
