DP announces the winning list of the National Council, names are made official after the counting process
The Democratic Party has published the final list of new members of the National Council, emphasizing the increased representation of youth and women, as part of the party's renewal and opening process.
The Democratic Party has made public the list of elected members of the Council, following the completion of the voting and vote counting process conducted at the National Assembly held on May 30.
According to the official announcement of the blue headquarters, the new composition of the National Council reflects a greater inclusion of young people, who constitute about 30 percent of the winning members. This level of representation exceeds the minimum threshold of 15 percent set in the statute.
The Democratic Party also announces that the statutory quota for women and girls was respected during the process, aiming for a more balanced representation in the party's leadership structures.
In response, it is stated that the DP considers the result as an indicator of the party's renewal and opening process, emphasizing the commitment to include more young people and new figures in decision-making.
Meanwhile, the composition of the National Council is not yet final. In accordance with the party's statute, representatives of the diaspora will be added to the list of elected members, who will occupy 15 percent of the seats in this governing forum.
"Following the votes at the National Assembly of the Democratic Party that were held the day before, it results that the winning candidates for members of the National Council of the Democratic Party, among them candidates with equal points in the list limits, are reflected as follows.
The willingness of the members of the National Assembly to exceed the statutory minimum for youth representation, from a minimum of 15% to 30% of the winning list, and also the respect of the new quota for the representation of women and girls, is to be appreciated.
This is in the same spirit as the National Assembly's key message about the renewal and opening of the Democratic Party.
"We also clarify that the winning list from the National Assembly vote will be added, according to point 2 of article 44 of the Statute, 15% of the Diaspora representative members, who are elected later, upon proposal of the Party Chairman and approval by decision of the DPA Presidency," the official announcement states.
