Following the request of the Democratic Party parliamentary group to change the agenda in the Assembly, with the aim of including the discussion on the European Parliament's report on Albania, the leader of the Socialist parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, stated that this issue could be discussed next week.
Balla stressed that the report has not yet been approved by the European Parliament itself, as it has so far only passed through the relevant committee and is expected to be voted on on June 16 or 17.
"The resolution reflects Albania's progress on the EU path, it proves Albania's achievements throughout this year when it is reported. It is an EP resolution on the 2025 report. Let's not be ridiculous, the EP approves this document itself on June 16 or 17, now we are asked to discuss it before the EP approves it. We are ready whenever you want, but we have scheduled it for next week on May 14.
This story takes me 2 minutes here to say we asked for a discussion on the report, this is not right, it makes us laugh. That the EP must approve it, on July 7-8 we also have the Stabilization and Association Committee, for Albanians. The resolution passed on Tuesday with 55 votes in favor, it is important to maintain seriousness. We look forward to the discussion as soon as this document is approved. Next week we will have the details for the report", Balla said.
