Lawyer Romeo Kara, speaking on the "Studio Live" show on Report TV about the primaries in the Democratic Party, said that this process will further divide this party, while predicting that it would be a failure.
And although he considered the primaries a necessary process for any party aiming to change the political situation, Kara said that they cannot be achieved with mayors who make lists and drag parties along.
"If we are going to change the spirit of politics in Albania, primaries should be held in every political party. By overthrowing the concept of the party boss, who leaves the rope outside and drags the party. I think that primaries will not be successful because the party leaders who make undemocratic changes to the Electoral Code cannot hold primaries. An unconstitutional and illegal Electoral Code, these are the same ones who make the lists, select. Who is strong with Berisha or in the field and who with the SP. Capable people face countless obstacles. But who puts the reliable people in? It remains unclear, there should be open lists, with lists and voting in an open manner, the name and the party. The one who comes out first gets the right place. Because someone can get the votes with the work of Liljana (Kuçana) and someone else wins by combing the doctor's hair. The horse works and the donkey eats, the servile one wins", said the lawyer.
As a second reason for the primaries in the DP, the lawyer says the alibi that Berisha is finding behind them or if he loses the elections.
"Another reason is Berisha's alibi if he loses tomorrow, it means the party elected him, we made him public and he's washing himself. I don't trust polls anymore, because of the tactics chosen by the SP. Because the biggest choice is made by one person on the list. We have terrible political hostage-taking to bring out alternatives," says Kara.
He even goes further, remembering that there may be a decision from the Court regarding the seal, while also emphasizing political morality.
"We say primaries, but don't lose the seal? Because we're still in the process, we may have a court decision later. With a stolen seal, holding honest primaries, that's not okay! They won't be successful. Berisha has problems with tomorrow and is thinking of an alibi. He's thinking about who to give it to, those loyalists or the base and center. To say it wasn't in my hands, he will hold the primaries by force, he will carry them out. There have been some evil people who have become the cause of people being expelled from Albania and one of them, the most important, is Sali Berisha," explains the lawyer.
But he also emphasized the authors of the amendment to the Electoral Code and the Diaspora vote.
"Those who make these illegal changes should be put in prison. Medemek democracy, but it's a kleptocracy! Let these two who took the vote (Gjiknuri and Bylykbashi) compete directly and see how much they win in an open confrontation. But with the code, thieves, offices, palaces and oligarchs, it's not a fair competition. Where are the 1.7 million Albanians who don't vote? There is talk that the US will postpone the elections. People want change, they don't want the old parties and politics anymore. I think the May 11 elections will be fictitious, because the two big parties will come out on top again. Sali Berisha is the symbol of evil, the head of the scumbag. Without the SP, the DP dies."
