Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha rejected within a few minutes this proposal made by Agron Duka to unite the opposition in a federation to be together against the socialist government.
Berisha said today that he can never sit at a table with Lulzim Basha, who called him a "hostage" of the government and Edi Rama.
"It can never happen that this party merges with Bravat. The position is firm, with Taulant Balla and Lulzim Brava there is no cooperation of any kind. This is the truth. The opposition cannot trigger such positions. The opposition will fight to the end for the truths it defends." Berisha said.
The opposition should be organized in a federation to unify the positions in front of the majority in the parliament.
With this aim, the platform presented by the small parties for overcoming the crisis in which the opposition has entered, envisages the unification of positions by inviting the entire opposition spectrum to become part of it.
"The institutionalization of the opposition federation, which includes all the opposition and relevant opposition factors that value the opposition relationship as an obligation and not an agreement that strengthens governance and unconstitutionality," Fatmir Mediu said today.
Part of the platform was overcoming the crisis of representation in the reform commission, where a vote among the opposition MPs was proposed as a solution.
In the presentation of this platform, neither the people of Basha nor Berisha, who numerically represent the largest opposition weight in the country, were present. Agron Duka asked them to put aside their personal grudges because according to him, 2025 will mark the next defeat.
