The Blue Headquarters has prepared for the protest to start at 7:00 PM and will end when the citizens decide, although the protests so far have shown that they do not last more than 150 minutes, which includes speeches and clashes between protesters and police, along with intermediate "breaks" on the "battlefield"...
The opposition has called for a national protest on May 8 against what it considers to be the regime of Edi Rama, following a cycle of protests that, despite the enthusiasm of the organizers, do not seem to be "igniting". The DP and its allies consider the protest to be the continuation of a political reaction by the opposition to the Rama Government, while the Democratic leader Sali Berisha has brought back attention to the May 11, 2025 elections, which he considers an electoral farce, as one of the reasons why they should protest. But what are the scenarios that the opposition can apply on May 8?
For several days, the deputies and members of the DP leadership have been engaged in the field, in meetings with citizens inviting them to join the protest. The deputies and members of the leadership have been divided according to the regions in meetings with the structures, while the greatest attention is focused on Tirana, Durrës, Lezhë, Shkodër and Fier, which are also considered as the regions from which a high participation is expected. The main objective for May 8 remains the highest possible participation in the protest, although there seems to be a clear skepticism, even from the questions addressed to the democratic leader Sali Berisha or his delegates, about what will be achieved in the next protest.
The Blue Party headquarters has prepared for the protest to start at 7:00 PM and to end when the citizens decide, although the protests so far have shown that they do not last more than 150 minutes, which includes speeches and clashes between protesters and police, along with intermediate "breaks" on the "battlefield". The protesters, depending on the branches and organization, will gather in advance at the DP headquarters, from where they will then march towards the Prime Minister's Office, while another part has been instructed to gather along the Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard.
The protest will have a podium, where voices from civil society and different layers of society will be targeted, combining political messages, but also the economic situation, especially after the price increase. The final message, as always, is expected to be given by Berisha with his speech.
One of the scenarios being discussed at the DP headquarters is a protest combined with civil disobedience, where in addition to the gathering of protesters on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, there will be a circulation of them on the main axes. The Democrats have applied such a protest format before, but if they bring it back into practice, the aim will be not simply a "circulation" on the road axes, but the blocking of several points on different axes.
Another scenario is that of a proportional response to what is considered to be the regime's violence against the protesters. This means that the organizers will try to create a confrontation scheme if the protesters are intervened as happened in the violent protest, which was caught off guard by the sudden intervention of the police, who managed to prevent the use of most of the Molotov cocktails that are usually thrown by various protesters towards the Prime Minister's Office building.
Both Sali Berisha and Flamur Noka have spoken in harsh political language, with numerous warnings, while describing the battle with Rama as the "last kilometer" of victory over the regime, a way, perhaps, to increase enthusiasm among the democrats. /Pamphlet/
