Democratic leader Sali Berisha, in a media conference, said that yesterday's opposition protest was a peaceful uprising.
" The Albanians showed that they are invincible, they represented the revolt, the anger of an entire nation. Never before has the peaceful uprising of the Albanians been more powerful than yesterday in the streets of Tirana. The message is clear, in Albania under the conditions of autocracy there is and can be no more peace and stability. Our battle will only increase, it will include all of Albania and will be uninterrupted until the departure of this criminal organization led by Edi Rama ," said Berisha.
But the German embassy in Tirana reacted this morning by condemning the acts of violence during the protest. The German embassy's reaction came after German flags were used in the protest, which was interpreted as Berlin supporting the opposition movement.
Reacting to the German Embassy's statement, Berisha said that "we are determined for peaceful uprising. If in these protests there are demonstrators injured by police violence, there have been no police officers injured to date."
"We remain determined for a peaceful uprising. We seek to continue with the peaceful motto. In the conditions of a coup d'état, all means are legal, but we stand by the peaceful uprising. We consider the greatest violence to be the seizure of the power of justice by the executive branch. This constitutes terrible constitutional violence, for violence against this people is Olta Xhaçka in the Assembly, for us terrible violence against this people is the blockage of justice for the arrest of the baluk because of Rama. But, we stand by the motto of peaceful protest, we believe that violence does not serve us, on the peaceful path we achieve our goals faster and better ", said Berisha.
