Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, during a press conference, invited citizens to join the protest called by the opposition. Berisha said that today's protest will mark the end of this regime and the victory of our future.
"Today is a day of history, not only of February 20, 1991, but also of February 20, 2026.
February 20, 1991 brought the spring of democracy. It brought the liberation of Albania from the most cruel cult that Albanians had known in their entire history.
February 20, 2026 will bring the new spring, it will bring the overthrow of the worst, most ruthless thief that Albanians have known in their entire history.
Therefore, I am here to invite every Albanian citizen, every opposition member, citizens of all persuasions, of all faiths, regardless of what thoughts, opinions, criticisms, dissatisfactions, objections we may have about each other, to unite against this evil that is exhausting our national substance, our nation.
Today is a day for every citizen to express their anger in the square of dignity, courage, and mission.
"Therefore, once again, my invitation to all Albanians, in a powerful hurricane that Tirana has not seen since 1991, to unite to jointly sign the end of this regime and the victory of our future," said Berisha.
