The Democratic Party has made public another denunciation that, according to it, is related to the violation of private property and the lack of transparency by state institutions.
In a media statement, the spokesperson for Anti-Corruption in the Democratic Party, Genta Vangjeli, stated that in the Kodër Babrru area, in Tirana, residents accuse the company "KAYO" of illegal land acquisition and fraud regarding the real nature of the investment that is taking place near their homes.
According to Vangjeli, these are properties with numbers 173 and 174, registered in the cadastre as the property of the Dervishi family. She said that, according to the residents' claims, these properties have been transferred to the administration of the Ministry of Defense for the benefit of the "KAYO" company, without transparency and without a public explanation.
"Today, citizens' land is surrounded by a gate and guarded by soldiers. Owners are prohibited from entering their property. There is no information board about the restrictions. There is no public explanation. There is only force, silence and arrogance," the DP statement said.
Residents, according to the statement, suspect that the investment described as a storage facility for military materials may in fact be the construction of an ammunition factory and a weapons dismantling unit. They express concern that such a high-risk activity, according to international safety standards, should be at least 1.5 kilometers away from residential areas.
In conclusion, Vangjeli emphasizes that "the Democratic Party stands by the citizens and demands a full and transparent investigation, immediate suspension of the works and restoration of legality."

The government is seizing private property and endangering the lives of citizens in Kodër Babrru.
Citizens in Kodër Babrru, Tirana, expressed that a serious scandal is taking place with the private property of the Dervishi family.
Properties with nos. 173 and 174, recognized by the cadastre as belonging to this family, have been transferred to the Ministry of Defense on behalf of the company "Kayo", without transparency, without public explanation and without respect for the constitutional right to property.

And as if this were not enough, according to the complainants, just 5 meters away from the residences, an ammunition factory and weapons dismantling unit are being built, a highly dangerous activity that, according to safety standards, should be at least 1.5 kilometers away from residential areas - they said.
The information board of the building permit states the object is “construction of a textile factory, two floors above ground”. Developer: “Kayo”. Contractor: “MSSC Group shpk”.
These companies are not known for their vision towards textiles, linen or basma, but for trading in weapons and heavy military ammunition.
If a weapons and dismantling factory will indeed be built there, as residents denounce, then we are dealing with an open public deception and deliberate concealment of the real nature of the project.
Residents have protested.
They have also filed a criminal complaint.
They have warned that they will pursue the case all the way to the European Court of Human Rights… and they are very right….
This is not a local issue.
This is evidence of a governance model that violates private property, uses security institutions to intimidate citizens, and places dubious interests over the lives of Albanian families.
No one has a mandate to rob citizens' property.
No one has the right to turn residential neighborhoods into dangerous industrial zones.
No one is above the law.
The Democratic Party stands by the citizens and demands a full and transparent investigation, immediate suspension of the works, and the restoration of legality.
If the state does not protect its citizens, citizens will protect themselves with every democratic means the law gives them.
For these reasons and many others, let's all together on February 20th give Edi Rama and his government what they deserve...
