The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Klodiana Spahiu, in her speech during the Conference of Speakers, focused on concerns related to the spread of disinformation and fake news in the public space.
She emphasized that over the weekend, a completely false and unfounded news story was spread, which targeted the family of the Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group.
According to Spahiu, despite the fact that the media that published this news were made aware of the truth, they continued to spread the slanders spread by Sali Berisha and other opposition representatives.
"What happened is unacceptable. Mechanisms must be found so that such cases do not remain without accountability and that the people who orchestrate fake news are held accountable, even criminally," said Spahiu.
She emphasized that the fight against disinformation is necessary to protect the integrity of public debate and to guarantee respect for ethical standards in the media and politics.
