Why are you razing Theth and keeping quiet about Driloni?

While IKMT's cadres demolish hostels in Theth, in the protected Drilon park, unauthorized construction of towers and palaces linked to Jamarbër Malltez and Fatmir Bektashi is underway, with the silence and support of the government...

All the kiosks and tourist guesthouses built in Theth after Prime Minister Edi Rama's public call for investments have been razed on his orders, through a violent operation by the IKMT and the State Police, right at the height of the summer season, expelling tourists. A day before the elections, Rama inaugurated the guesthouses, calling them "Swiss tourism models", while after the elections he called them "unauthorized constructions" and ordered their demolition.

But at the same time, in one of the most famous parks in Albania, in Drilon, the opposite is happening. In the protected area, on the edge of the lake, the illegal construction of the tourist complex "Pyjet e Drilonit" has begun, with luxurious palaces and towers. The investment is being made by the company "Kontakt&Magnet IMO Sh.pk", owned by Fatmir Bektashi and Jamarbër Malltez, the son-in-law of Sali Berisha. The two of them, known for numerous construction scandals and under criminal prosecution for money laundering and construction violations, not only do not separate, but in the eyes of the institutions are publicly advertising the project, and are selling apartments and commercial premises "on the air".

The complex is located in a territory protected by UNESCO, but the Municipality of Pogradec, IKMT, Police, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Culture have chosen silence. Everyone is aware, but no one intervenes. Because Bektashi and Malltezi are "allowed" by Rama himself, unlike the innkeepers of Theth who took his public call to invest seriously.

The National Territorial Council itself has admitted that the company applied for a permit only in February 2025, and has not yet received approval. But in the meantime, work is being done, it is being advertised and it is being sold. With the conviction that neither SPAK nor the local prosecutor's office will move without a political order, as happened with other closed cases in Olta Xhaçka's resort in Himara or the unauthorized towers in the center of Tirana.

The double justice being exercised in Theth and Drilon is not accidental. It is the true governing philosophy of the Renaissance: those who are no longer needed are destroyed; those who are still needed are allowed to plunder, build, and concrete. This is the political and urban reality of today's Albania./ Pamphlet
