The internal crisis in the Democratic Party continues to deepen, while the latest meeting of the Presidency has revealed new clashes, this time between MP Blendi Himçi and former MP Ervin Salianji. At the center of the conflict is the issue of signatures for Endri Shabani's candidacy for Ombudsman, which has opened a deep wound in the ranks of the opposition.
Himçi has accused Salianj of hypocrisy and a lack of political morality. In this regard, he has raised concerns about a behavior that, according to him, is dividing the party, where true idealists are placed in the same camp as the bargainers and beneficiaries of daily politics.
For his part, Salianji reacted with irony, denying involvement in meetings or movements in Elbasan.
Blendi Himçi: I'm only correcting spelling, grammar, and punctuation, without changing any idea, tone, or content:
Blendi Himçi: We cannot sell the ideals of the DP over personal interests. To act profanely by accusing MPs who made a mistake by signing for Endri Shabani, when you were the initiator of collecting signatures for Endri Shabani, does not honor you and has no morals. You asked me personally and I refused to sign. You also asked other colleagues and they, in good faith, gave it.
Neither the idealistic democrat nor the bargainer can remain in the Democratic Party. Neither the militant, nor the one who poisons every day in the media or social networks, in the name of the fact that the Democrats are being pitied, while they openly worked in the May 11 elections.
Salianji: I have neither been to Elbasan during this period, nor have I had a meeting so far. In the meantime, what can I say, they forced you to say it and you say it, but remember that I see that your name is not even on the list. You can be funny even consciously.
