"Rama-Berisha cannot get 71 mandates", Alibeaj: DP is the

The two major parties are the model of the past and are in a decline that will prevent either of them from achieving 71 parliamentary mandates in the May 11 parliamentary elections.

With SPAK at their back, where Berisha even has a "stone around his neck" with criminal files as he privatized the DP, together with Rama, they will have a hard time winning a majority, but they will try to secure the votes in every way and opportunity to hit SPAK, as has been recently stated, by uniting the votes in the next Parliament.

This was stated by the MP and founder of 'Djathtas 1912', Enkelejd Alibeaj, today in 'Studio Live' of moderator Arbër Hitaj.

" Preparations are nearing completion, the electoral campaign begins on the 11th. The program, organization, candidates and structures are ready. A little late, as you noted due to coalitions, but the 'day of judgment' has come. There are difficulties in fact, especially financial ones. It is clear that campaigns in Albania are expensive. The finances required in electoral processes are huge. From the chancelleries, administration, media relations and others. We are organizing this campaign at our own expense. According to the Electoral Code, parties with deputies in parliament receive funding, we have not received any, but we are not crying. I see it as a test, if a campaign in politics is conducted with minimal cost. Not to mention other difficulties, such as the lack of people in the commissions of the voting centers or counting centers ", said Alibeaj.

But he added that now the old duopoly model is collapsing and the events that have occurred recently, with the strengthening and attacks of SPAK, have made it clear even in the movements of the Rama-Berisha binomial. He shared the opinion that the DP is now "Berisha's private party". However, the end of the duopoly has arrived.

" The history of 35 years has been a duopoly, a long time. But the duopoly has started to fall, I see it since 5 years ago in the Electoral Code. The end of the duopoly or the mentality to maintain the government itself and not to give responsibility has come. The new electoral code shows even better that this system is falling. That's why they chose closed lists, while we chose open lists. They both gave a signal to the Albanians with the bargain they made. There is also a part in the DP, Berisha's personal and private party, that has support for us new parties, as well as in the SP ", continues the representative of the 'Right for Development' coalition.

According to him, Rama and Berisha will not be able to win 11 mandates on May 11: " I think that on May 11, neither Rama nor Berisha will be able to win a simple majority. They will not be able to win 71 mandates. In 2021, Rama received 48%, less than half, also because of the electoral system, but since then many events have occurred that have hit the government. Support for him has fallen, although it seems solid ."
