Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Vlora today at the SP General Assembly.
During his speech, Rama focused on the investigations for January 21, as he said that justice may be delayed a little, but in the end it will not be absent.
While describing January 21 as a state crime, Rama said that the culprits are not only those who pulled the trigger and killed four protesters, but also those who ordered the opening of fire, who should appear before the court. He also commented on the decision of the Strasbourg court, as he said that their judgment was the same as ours.
"January 21st didn't happen yesterday, it happened many years ago and we all know how bad it is for another January 21st to come and another and another and another and those who have to answer for that crime continue to laugh and ridicule... the victims of January 21.
On the other hand, no one should forget that in this system that we have chosen, neither the party, nor the government, nor the prime minister, give glory to God. Justice does justice. If today there is a reason to feel... it's a couple of guys who start clapping and forget to stop. I have the impression that they only hear the applause.
I was saying that if today there is a reason to feel somewhat relieved in relation to January 21, for which we have had the burden of paving the way for justice since the beginning of time, it is that today, although I will still ask for time to look at it we see the justice done for January 21st, firstly the path of justice has been opened and secondly, today it is very clear that justice for January 21st can really be delayed, but it is not to be missed. What happened at the human rights court is historic. Whoever has read its decision for January 21 has seen that the court has formulated exactly what I and others have said since the beginning of the time.
January 21 is a state crime. For the state crime, not only those who pulled the trigger, but those who ordered the opening of fire with live bullets on innocent people should be held accountable.
How we opened the path of justice by reforming justice. If you look at the Strasbourg judgment, he said the same thing we said. Thank goodness the court is in Strasbourg so they don't say that Rama caught him as they say about everything that doesn't suit them, the truth is that we haven't caught anything, we stand on the principle side of this story, but we stand towards them that we have taken over... Did the Americans bring it? How did they bring it by plane or ship? The Americans have been here since 1991," said Rama.
