The Democratic Party has presented its candidates for MPs in Pogradec with the participation of opposition leader Sali Berisha.
The leader of the Democratic Party for Korça, Ivi Kaso, said that "for 12 years in a row, Edi Rama has plunged Albanians into a dark path with no exit and Europe has become an increasingly distant illusion."
He stated that corruption, crime, drugs, and money laundering are the reasons for the massive departure of young people as they feel uncertain about the future.
"Together we have gone through a long journey, a 34-year journey to make Albania like the rest of Europe. A democratic, pluralistic, prosperous country where people live with dignity, with opportunities and with hope for the future. But for 12 years in a row, Edi Rama has plunged Albanians into a dark path with no way out, and Europe has become an increasingly distant illusion."
Corruption, crime, drugs, money laundering, and the mass exodus of people have become the face of this regime. The youth of Pogradec are leaving, their families feel uncertain about the future. Professionals, entrepreneurs, doctors, and nurses are leaving. Schools are closing every day because students are leaving. Teachers are leaving with them. They are leaving because they no longer see hope here. Pogradec is not just a city, it is a symbol of Albanian culture, art, wonderful nature, and the pure spirit of its people ,” said Kaso from Pogradec.
