MP Tomor Alizoti, who is also the political leader of the Democratic Party in the Elbasan region, says that this city has turned into a gang city.
According to him, criminal gangs that are connected to the government have a hand everywhere in Albania. Alizoti raised concerns that the administration is forced to appear at Socialist Party meetings.
According to him, the main problem is the State Police, which is at the service of the government. The DP MP also says that despite the denunciations that were made during the campaign, the police have not reacted.
Alizoti emphasizes that there is massive vote buying, but he does not denounce it because he does not trust the justice institutions.
"Elbasan is a gang city, a drug city. Gangs all over Albania have a hand in it, because they want security and the state gives them security."
People are bought en masse, money is thrown at them for votes, then there is the threat. For me, this has started over time. I always say that in Albania the problem is not the gang, but the leader of the country who uses them for his power. There are criminal gangs in every country in the world, but some of them stay in their field, but when they get involved in the instability of the country, they turn into political gangs.
"The State Police is the problem, it is a legal gang. The police are totally at the service of the government ," he told "News 24".
